Amazing History

The original house is over 500 years old. The house was converted into a hotel in the early 1960s by the Newling Ward family. St. Michael’s Manor is still privately owned and managed which gives the hotel its own unique charm and beauty. The hotel is one of 70 listed buildings, old inns, and mills, in St Albans. St Michael's Manor backs onto the river Ver and Verulamium park. Nearby is the magnificent St Albans Cathedral, only a short walk away. The five acres of manicured gardens and one acre lake are sheer beauty in the heart of St Albans.

Dining at St Michael's Manor

The beautiful orangery style Lake restaurant offers amazing views overlooking the fabulous garden and lake. The restaurant is a Two Rosette AA Award dining restaurant and offers a superb range of award winning and modern British cuisine to suit all tastes. Diners can choose from an A La Carte or Lake menu. The Lake Restaurant opens daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The restaurant is very popular for Sunday lunch with lovely surroundings to relax and enjoy a delicious meal. The hotel serves delicious afternoon teas in the hotel lounge. There is also a snack bar.
